Artie George: Biography

Northwest carver Artie George

Artie George is a Coast Salish wood carver from the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (Burrard Band). Born in British Columbia, he is the grand nephew of the respected actor, author and revered elder Chief Dan George. Through his art, Artie George expresses visually what his great uncle embodied in the words and deeds of his life; the face of humanity as one with nature and the great spirit within. His miniature masks and other collectibles are original works of art representing Northwest Coast Native artwork.

Annie Kaill's carries a full selection of Artie George's original carvings. Each shadowbox, in which the carvings are displayed, measures 4-1/2 inches square.
